An unlikely friendship.
A global impact.
The power of women.
For 15 years, Julius and Eloise’s remarkable story of friendship, compassion, dedication, and hope has captivated audiences around Australia and the world.
In Portland, 2008 at the Nike clinic, Julius Achon was working as a pacer and househand. Eloise Wellings was rehabilitating an ongoing injury. A chance meeting would change the trajectory of not only their lives, but the lives of thousands in Uganda.
Julius, a former child soldier, told Eloise the story of his home village in northern Uganda, devastated by poverty in the wake of decades of civil war. Together, they vowed to help, and Love Mercy Foundation was born.
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
THE POWERFUL STORY, BOUND TO INSPIRE.
Julius & Eloise knew that to have a transformational impact, the change needed to be driven by women.
As the caretakers for their families, the extraordinarily determined and resilient women of Uganda became Love Mercy’s key focus.
The wave of restorative empowerment across northern Uganda through Love Mercy’s programs is a captivating story of the power of women: their heart, their strength, and their relentless drive to uplift one another.
